THE WORK:
As part of a campaign to pass a New York State Breathe Act and build the capacity of Black organizing across New York State, the Black Freedom Project developed and deployed a community survey in partnership with other Black-led organizations and advocates. The survey seeks to understand what we, as Black New Yorkers, believe keeps us safe and what impacts (changes to material and experiential conditions) NYS Breathe Act policies would have on our communities.
Information from the survey will be used to develop legislative priorities, inform a campaign and develop public engagement materials, inform strategy and legislative priorities, and provide opportunities for local organizations to increase their membership and bases. The scope of work was centered in supporting survey distribution for Black constituents in the city of Albany, NY, the promotion and data analysis of survey respondents.

OFFFERINGS
The Black Freedom Project (BFP) was a coalition of Black organizers and Black base-building organizations across New York. At the time of its existence BFP envisioned building a world where the most marginalized Black people in New York State are able to fully realize their humanity. BFP is now defunct.
I contributed to BFP's work by actively participating in coalition meetings, assisting with campaign planning, providing detailed reports, and supporting digital advocacy efforts to amplify the organization's initiatives.
